Henderson County man offers $15K reward in theft of drag race car, truck, trailer
A Henderson County man says his 1999 Pontiac Firebird drag race car was stolen from Concord, N.C. around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. He says it was taken along with a truck, trailer and four wheeler. Monday night, Jake Jarvis recovered the truck and four wheeler from York County, S.C. He says the truck was stripped.
Jarvis says the upgraded race car is worth about $200,000. He says it was a dream car.
“Since I was a 5-year-old boy I wanted to go fast and have a race car," said Jarvis.
Jarvis and his engineer are offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or return of the race car.
“Just really disheartening when someone just takes it from a hard working person. It’s not like it was given to me. It’s not like I had a few of them sitting around and this was one of them. This was my dream since I was my daughter’s age," he said.
Jarvis posted to Facebook that his "entire setup" was stolen, including a yellow Can-Am 250 4-wheeler (which was in the truck bed), a black 4-door truck, a trailer, and his race car, which was inside the trailer.
His Facebook post about the theft has been shared over 53,300 times.
The black truck and black trailer are both branded with logos for "Precision Grading" or "Precision Grading Racing."
The truck is a heavily customized Ford F-250 with a flatbed with a large exhaust pipe, and custom 20X12 rims. It has the Precision Grading logo on the windshield and windows.
The trailer is a 24-foot black v-nose, also branded with the Precision Grading Racing logo.
Jarvis posted to Facebook that he has "liability only" insurance.
Concord police say the trailer and vehicles were stolen from the parking lot of Homewood Suites of Scott Padgett Parkway in Concord.
Police say they have no suspects in the crime.
