Hendersonville collection event collects 47,000 unwanted prescription pills

We have an update Monday on Henderson County's initiative to keep prescription drugs out of the wrong hands.

The sheriff's office held a pill collection and document-shred event.

In total, they collected a little more than 63 pounds of unused medication--that's about 47,000 pills.

The next community pill drop and document shred will be September 14.
