Tickets are on sale right now for an event to help the honeybees.

For the eight year, Renaissance Asheville Hotel will hold The Black Jar International Honey Tasting to benefit the Center for Honeybee Research.

Attendees can sample 30 varieties of honey from all over the world.

A $35 general admission ticket includes a cocktail event and hors d’oeuvres, while a $50 VIP ticket also allows you to vote for the People’s Choice honey.

For $500, you can sponsor the bees and receive four VIP tickets with extended thanks at the event.

The Black Jar International Honey Tasting will be held Tuesday, June 5, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the hotel in downtown Asheville. You can purchase tickets here.

Renaissance Asheville Hotel has a bee hotel, with two hives located on the roof and an on-site beekeeper.

A contest is also now underway to name the hotel’s queen bee. Visit the hotel’s Facebook page to submit a name.
