An exciting wintertime attraction is once again happening in Downtown Hendersonville this holiday season.

Lace up your skates and take to the ice skating rink located at the Visitor Center at 201 South Main Street. The rink opens Tuesday, December 18 and runs through Tuesday, January 1.

The new Iceless Skating Rink is larger and offers optimal glide with the least amount of surface friction. The synthetic ice-skating rink is made from special polymers and features two curling lanes.

Beginners can learn to skate easily on the synthetic surface with more control than on refrigerated ice. Enjoy roasting marshmallows for a tasty s'more, or playing a game of corn hole, checkers, or Jenga with your family and friends.

Price of admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children, which includes the skate rental. Group rates for 10 or more are available by reservation.

The hours of the rink are 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Christmas Eve 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Christmas Day-Closed, New Year's Eve 11 a.m. - 3 p.m, and New Year's Day from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., weather permitting.

The skating rink is a fundraiser for the Henderson County America in Bloom Committee.

America in Bloom is a mentoring program that helps towns enhance environmental awareness, promote economic development, and improve quality of life.
