A tractor-trailer crashes early Wednesday morning on I-40 on Old Fort Mountain had eastbound traffic closed during the morning commute.

The crash happened at around 7:30 a.m. near Dunsmore Avenue on the Buncombe County-McDowell County line, near exit 66.

Officials with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed with News 13, a tractor-trailer was traveling east when it lost power going uphill. The tractor-trailer then rolled back and collided with two other vehicles.

The tractor-trailer was operated by Kenneth Hogue, 55, from Yorksville, Tenn. Hogue was not injured in the crash but was charged with unsafe movement.

The drivers of the other vehicles were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
