Investigation ongoing after 3 arrested during Leicester armed home break-in
Buncombe County officials confirm, three people have been arrested in connection with a home break-in late Monday night.
Deputies say the break-in happened at around 11 p.m. Monday night in a home off Turkey Creek Road in Leicester.
After a preliminary investigation at the scene, it was determined that multiple suspects came to the aforementioned residence and knocked on the door. When one of the victim’s answered the door, Randall Dequan McDaniel, displayed a gun to him, and forced his way into the residence. A second suspect, Erin Nicole Tucker, followed McDaniel. Randall approached a bedroom door and kicked it in, then put a gun to a second victim’s head; he then exited the room, forcing the first victim out of the residence, and attempted to break the glass in a vehicle located outside. When McDaniel and Tucker heard sirens in the distance, they ran quickly to their vehicle which was parked at the end of the driveway of the residence, where a third suspect, Shannon Patrice Royal, was waiting.
Arrest warrants say three suspects conspired and attempted to steal $600 from the three residents of the home by threatening to use a handgun.
Deputies say the suspects were armed with a gun and they tried to make a run for it when authorities arrived, but were quickly taken into custody.
At this time, the motive is unknown and it is unclear how or if the suspects knew the victims.
No one was injured.
