BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. -- Buncombe County authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man in Arden over the weekend.

Deputies arrived at the home on Tree Top Drive on July 16 just after 3:30 a.m.

There they found Dr. Frank Buddy McCutcheon, 64, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

No suspects have been named in the investigation, and deputies said in a press release there is no immediate threat to the community.

Dr. McCutcheon worked at Cosmetic Surgery of Asheville, which has since closed, according to a sign in the door.

A neighbor says crime tape was up for 15 hours Saturday as investigators went in and out.
