Man charged after failing to follow orders at crash scene, BAL nearly 3x legal limit
Authorities in Forest City have charged a man who was found with a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit and whom they say failed to obey directions at a crash scene.
Police say that on August 17, 2018, just after 5 p.m., Neil Waldron was arrested for DWI He had an open container of an alcoholic beverage and failed to obey traffic directions from officers who were directing traffic at a vehicle crash with injuries.
Officials say that at the time of his arrest, Waldron’s blood alcohol level was .22, almost three times the legal driving limit of .08.
"Anytime an impaired driver gets behind the wheel, he or she puts all of us at risk! Based upon Waldron’s level of impairment nearly being 3 times the legal limit and of him failing to follow officer’s directions while driving through an accident scene, we are very fortunate that no one was hurt from those involved in the earlier accident to the number of public safety personnel tasked with performing emergency services," said Forest City Police Chief Jackson.
Waldron was charged with DWI and driving with an open container of an alcoholic beverage.
He was given a $1,500 unsecured bond.
