Mars Hill University raises $50M for scholarships, new buildings
Mars Hill University has raised more than $50 million to help with its "Building Our University" campaign.
The school's marching band welcomed students and friends of Mars Hill Friday to celebrate completion of the campaign.
Major components of "Building Our University" include student scholarships, funding for faculty development, and completion of "Day Hall," which houses the university's business program and some student activities.
"We have a campus that has 150 year old buildings and brand new buildings," said university president Tony Floyd. "This enables our students to have a great place to study, to work and to dress out for sports."
Other major projects include the Ferguson Health Sciences Building for the Mars Hill nursing program.
Construction of the athletic field house is set to be complete in the spring of next year.
