Fresh off of his World Series victory with the Houston Astros, Cameron Maybin is back home in Asheville, working on his next project, the Maybin Mission Holiday Project.

Today, as it's Giving Tuesday, the Asheville native announced he would be matching 100% of all donations made today to the Maybin Mission Holiday Project.

#GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.

It’s the third year in a row Maybin has organized some sort of holiday project to benefit families in Asheville.

Founded by Cameron and his wife Courtney in 2016, the Maybin Mission focuses on enriching the lives of inner-city youth.

“Just doing your part to help somebody out around the holidays is very special to myself and my family, and I'm just excited to be able to do it again and keep it going for years to come,” said Maybin.

If you know a local family who is in need of a little help, you can nominate them here. The nomination process is now open through December 4.

Today, Maybin Mission programs and partnerships reach thousands of kids from Asheville to Anaheim – and everywhere in between.

Through positive play, education and cultural programming, the Maybins are dedicated to impacting the communities in which they live and serve.
