ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) -- A missing Asheville teen, who was considered armed and dangerous by police, has been located.
Asheville police announced Wednesday that Patrick Michael Koerschner, 17, had been located.
Sean Devereux, the defense attorney representing Patrick Koerschner, told News 13 that Koerschner called him on Tuesday.
"We met briefly. I suggested he turn himself in, and talk with (Asheville) police,” Devereux said.
“I agreed with his parents to take him and have him committed for a mental evaluation,” Devereux added.
Officials with the Asheville Police Department said Koerschner was last seen on June 26 when he was reported missing.
At the time, authorities said Koerschner should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him should exercise caution and contact law enforcement immediately.
Asheville police are also looking for a juvenile involved in a shooting that happened on Monday, June 25, 2018. News 13 asked if these cases are connected, but a police spokesperson said she cannot make any further comments on the cases, because they both involve juveniles.
