'National Night Out' in Brevard brings people and law enforcement together

TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. -- Brevard area residents are invited to an event designed to bring people and law enforcement together for a stronger community.

Brevard Police and the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office present National Night Out, a community event promoting awareness, safety and neighborhood unity.

National Night Out 2016 happens Tuesday Aug. 2 from 6-9 p.m., at East Main St. from Broad St to Johnston Street.

Residents of all ages are invited to explore law enforcement and Fire & Rescue vehicles. There will also be a NASCAR show car, an antique show car, square dancing, and an appearance by Spencer Childers, a local NASCAR driver.

The event also includes a bounce house for the kids.
