Students from a Buncombe County school went to a local convenience store Tuesday to remind people it's illegal to buy or sell alcohol to minors.

Nesbitt Discovery Academy students stuck the reminders on alcoholic drinks at the Hot Spot on Brevard Road in Asheville as a part of Project Sticker Shock. Stickers were placed on drinks like Mike's Hard Lemonade that are fun-looking and can be attractive for those underage.

"In high school, it's important to make good choices, especially when you're looking at colleges. And it's also illegal. So, it's not something minors should be considering in the first place. It was just a good way to help educate the public," Nesbitt Discovery Academy's Megan Lemmons said.

The Partnership for Substance Free Youth in Buncombe County, which worked with the students, has been helping prevent juvenile drinking and drugging since 2009.
