Henderson County deputies have arrested one man in connection to the El Charrito Tienda armed robbery that occurred Friday morning.

They say today deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driving near Union Hill Church Road that had been reported stolen earlier Saturday morning.

According to the deputies, the vehicle didn't stop and attempted to flee.

The car eventually wrecked and the driver, who was later identified as 18-year-old Cele Leyva-Hernandez, fled on foot.

Leyva-Hernandez was soon apprehended after a foot chase.

Deputies tell News 13 that during that chase he dropped evidence that linked him to the stolen Cadillac Escalade that was used as the getaway vehicle from the El Charrito Tienda armed robbery.

They say Leyva-Hernandez gave them several fake names before they were able to positively identify him.

Detectives have charged Leyva-Hernandez with two counts larceny of a vehicle, breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon and second degree kidnapping.

Leyva-Hernandez remains in the Henderson County jail under a $1,210,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing as detectives work to identify the second robbery suspect.

Anyone with any information should contact the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office at 828-697-4911.
