1 dead, 1 hurt in Asheville shooting

An Asheville man has died after he was shot at Lee Walker Heights Saturday night, said Christina Hallingse, a spokeswoman for the Asheville Police Department.

Hallingse says Asheville police responded to Lee Walker Heights just after 9 p.m. after receiving reports someone was suffering from a gunshot wound.

When they arrived, they found two people suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Both were transported to Mission Hospital.

Devon Harvin, 21, died from his injuries.

Hallingse says the other victim is currently stable.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
