Asheville police ask for the public's help in identifying an armed robbery suspect in a Sunday robbery in South Asheville.

On Sunday, April 15, 2018 at approximately 3:55 p.m. the Asheville Police Department responded to the Hot Spot at 1069 Sweeten Creek Road after reports of an armed robbery.

Police say the suspect entered the store and displayed a firearm, demanding cash and cigars. He left the store on foot before officers arrived, with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male who was wearing a hooded jacket and a surgical mask.
