Police investigate shots fired over the weekend in West Asheville

Police confirm one person suffered minor injuries over the weekend after an incident in West Asheville.

The Asheville Police Department said on Jan. 18, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to the area of 26 Vermont Avenue after receiving reports of a gun discharge.

Upon arrival, Asheville police said officers located a victim with minor injuries who declined transportation to the hospital.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
