Police investigate shots fired over the weekend in West Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Police confirm one person suffered minor injuries over the weekend after an incident in West Asheville.

The Asheville Police Department said on Jan. 18, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to the area of 26 Vermont Avenue after receiving reports of a gun discharge.

Upon arrival, Asheville police said officers located a victim with minor injuries who declined transportation to the hospital.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
