A public meeting has been set for Wednesday night about video of an Asheville police officer punching and tasing a man warned about jaywalking.

The Asheville Citizen-Times obtained the video and broke the story.

The Citizens Police Advisory Committee asked for input from the public ahead of tonight's meeting. And the city set up a hotline for people to share their feelings about the video.

"I've never been more ashamed to call Asheville my home. The incident was reprehensible, and the response was almost as reprehensible," one person said on the hotline.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the Wesley Grant Southside Center auditorium on Livingston Street.
