Dinger the dinosaur, the Colorado Rockies' mascot, makes an appearance on behalf of the Rockies at Enka Intermediate School.

The Rockies major league baseball team is the parent club of the Asheville Tourists.

Four Tourists players were on hand as part of the Make an Impact program. It encourages kids to stay in school, refuse drugs, get involved and show respect.

"All of us were in their shoes one day," said Tourists pitcher Robert Tyler. "We told them to chase their dreams, get involved with school, and all that stuff. There's so many key aspects that they can use to get to where we are, or whatever they want to accomplish in life."

Eighteen of the 25 Rockies players once played for the Tourists.
