Saturday Weather Update: Flooding, Snow, and Icy Roads
FLOOD WARNINGS through 11:00 PM Sunday along the French Broad River in Henderson and Transylvania Counties.
Lows are expected to dip into the mid 20's Saturday morning which will turn any lingering moisture on the roads into ice if not treated.
Ice could be around for a while Saturday since highs are only forecast in the low to mid 30's.
Secondary and untreated roads will likely be slick this morning.
Madison County officials are reporting some slick spots on the roadways there early Saturday morning.
Higher elevations will likely see blowing snow this morning continuing into the afternoon, mostly along and near the TN boarder.
An inch or two looks most likely for most of those locations near the border with a dusting to a half inch possible for the mountain valleys, including Asheville.
Wind gusts in the mountain valleys could reach 30-40 mph through Saturday afternoon and into early Sunday.
Gusts along peaks and ridges could top 50-60 mph which could lead to some down trees and potential power outages.

Things should clear up Saturday night and into Sunday.
Highs Sunday and Monday reach the mid and upper 30's.
