HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Interstate 40 eastbound was closed Sunday night near the Tennessee state line after an incident involving a semi-truck on fire.
The North Carolina DOT reported the road was closed at mile mark 4 just before 8:15 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2020. The road was closed just after the first tunnel.

A News 13 viewer sent a video showing a semi-truck with the cab fully engulfed in flames.
Just after 9:30 p.m. officials confirmed the road had reopened.

No word on what caused the incident or if there were any injuries. News 13 has reached out to officials for more information.
