The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 10 a.m. Monday morning for the mountains of upstate South Carolina, northeast Georgia, and western North Carolina.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of wintry mix will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and use caution while driving!

This advisory is for freezing drizzle, freezing mist, and very light snow. Although little accumulation is expected, it will be enough to make roads very slippery, especially bridges and overpasses.

Interstate 40 from Canton to Marion is especially affected. Use extreme caution when driving, especially on that highway.

The affected areas include Southern Jackson County, Transylvania, Henderson, the Burke County mountains, the McDowell mountains, Rutherford mountains, Polk mountains, Oconee mountains, Pickens mountains and the Greenville mountains.
