Snow possible later in the week
Christmas Day brings cold, but snow is possible in our area as soon as Thursday, December 28, 2017.
Expect winds to diminish overnight on Christmas, with clouds hanging on. It will be another cold one, with lows in the lower 20's even with the cloud cover.
Sunshine returns Tuesday along with some warmer temperatures, at least compared to Monday. Highs should reach the lower 40's, about 5 degrees below average for this time of year.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be our warmest days of the week.
Our next round of winter weather arrives late Thursday, either in the afternoon or evening, mainly as light snow. Friday brings the potential for a wintry mix of snow, sleet and ice.
However, some computer models have really backed off on the intensity and moisture with this system. There is still the possibility of tricky travel on Friday, though.
A cold front brings another blast of cold, dry air on Saturday, with highs in the mid 30's and lows dipping into the upper teens Saturday night.
Right now, New Years Eve looks very chilly, with the chance for light snow as we ring in 2018, and lows near 20 degrees.
