Steve Martin says he's back in Asheville, recording a new record with Steep Canyon Rangers
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —
Guess who's back in town?
Comedy's gift to bluegrass says on his official Facebook page that he's in Asheville, "making a new record with Steep Canyon Rangers."
Martin Tweeted a photo of them back at Echo Mountain Recording Studios, where they also recorded "Rare Bird Alert," a 2011 GRAMMY nominee for best bluegrass record.
Martin maintains a home in Brevard, and is a frequent collaborator with the Steep Canyon Rangers, who are based there.
Western North Carolina has begun appearing in Martin's works in the last few years: a single with Edie Brickell was titled "When You Get to Asheville," and he partially set his Tony- and GRAMMY-award nominated musical Bright Star in North Carolina.
It looks like Martin arrived back in Asheville in early March. Welcome back!
