Taggers hit old Toys R Us building on Brevard Road
Asheville public works officials suspect a group of vandals graffitied the old Toys R Us store on Brevard Road.
Several tags can be seen on the front and side of the building. The store closed for good in June after the company went belly up.
Public works officials said they sent a letter to the property owner after spotting some of the well-known tags.
"JEWL is one of the tags we see quite often. We're not sure who it is. Often times the tag is much more ornate than that one. But, I think that just speaks to the method that this tag was applied with versus the normal tag," Asheville Public Works Department's Chad Bandy said.
If the owner doesn't remove the tags, city workers could end up doing it and charging the owner.
