BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Troopers are still looking for the driver in the June 13 hit-and-run wreck along New Leicester Highway that left one man dead and others injured.
Authorities with Highway Patrol say Rodivaldo Velaquez Morales, 27, of Fairview, was driving when a 2006 Ford pickup truck crossed over into the northbound lane of N.C.-63 and collided into two vehicles near Goughes Branch Road.
Authorities say two passengers in the first vehicle struck were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Tony Curtis Gaston, 57, the driver of the second car struck, was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Troopers say Armin Lucio Roblero, 24, and Begni Velazquez Morales, 27, were arrested the night of the wreck and charged with felony fleeing the scene of an accident involving serious injury and death.
Rodivaldo Velaquez Morales is wanted for felony hit and run with serious injury and felony hit and run death.
