Identity of victim from Blue Ridge Parkway crash released, incident ruled a suicide
BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) —
Emergency officials identify a body located about 400 feet from a crash site along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Authorities say the car plunged about 250-feet over an embankment just south of Craggy Gardens Monday night. A witness told authorities they watched the vehicle go over the embankment and called for help just after 8 p.m. Monday.
First responders worked through the night in tough terrain to recover the body of 25-year-old Travis Miller from the scene.
Emergency workers confirm Miller had been ejected from the vehicle.
Crews from Blue Ridge Parkway, Weaverville and Reynolds were called in to help and a helicopter from Johnson City was brought in.
The chief ranger says the crash and death has been ruled a suicide.
