After months of discussions, Weaverville Town Council said yes to new rules for food trucks. The issue was the subject of Monday night's packed public hearing.

The planning and zoning board in February voted unanimously to recommend the amendments to the additional standards for the mobile vendors. The amendments included items like parking, waste disposal and distance from residential homes.

The owner of one business is pleased with the outcome.

"It's definitely going to help our business. A lot of people like to go to breweries, a lot of people like to frequent food trucks and they kind of go hand in hand, a match made. I think its going to be great," Eluvium Brewing Co. co-owner Jon Varner said.

Council passed the measure 3-2.

Varner said he hopes to start scheduling food trucks in the next few weeks.
