UPDATE: Suspect in Weaverville bank robbery arrested

The search for a Weaverville bank robber appears to be over.

Weaverville police arrested Ralph Husby, 77, of Weaverville, on Friday. Husby, who turned himself in, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was transported to the Buncombe County Detention Center, where he was held under an $80,000 secured bond.

The robbery took place Thursday afternoon at the Hometrust Bank in Northridge Commons, near the Lowe's and Walmart.

The robber walked in and showed the teller what appeared to be a gun.

He left with money in a brown paper bag, driving away in a silver BMW.
