The winter season has begun. So to celebrate, students are creating their own wintry scene--with paper and pastels.

Currently, the Asheville Art Museum is under renovations, so they're taking their arts programs to different libraries.

The outreach program is a great way for children to discover a love for the arts

"You can draw whatever you want, and no one can tell you like that's the right or the wrong way to do it," said Colette, age 10.

"This is a great way for them to understand what it looks like during the different seasons of the year, what it looks like during the different months, and how to work with color choices," said Erin Shope, Education Manager.

Students also welcomed winter during story time at the library.

Special programs are being offered at a number of the Asheville and Buncombe County branches during the holiday break`
