Wine bar opens in River Arts District

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A wine bar has opened in Asheville's River Arts District. Husband-and-wife team Barret and Lauri Nichols own District Wine Bar, which is housed in the Wedge Studios building.
They said the bar specializes in boutique wines and rare European beers, but the space is more than just a cool spot for a business.
"We've been looking at this space forever. My grandfather bought feed and seed from this very same spot, which I think is a cool little history lineage. My father did all the gas piping in this building, and you know 60, 70 years later the daughter's opening a wine bar," Lauri Nichols said.
They said they will also soon be offering small bites like cheeses, meats and breads from local businesses.
