JACKSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) -- Troopers said they think a medical emergency led to a woman's death Monday in Jackson County.
Authorities said 62-year-old Patricia Morlock, who was staying at Qualla Motel on Highway 441, hit the building while attempting to park about 12:30 p.m. They said she backed up and went across the street and struck a rock wall, which caused her vehicle to overturn and land in a creek.
Morlock was pinned in the car and drowned.
Investigators believe a medical issue led to the crash.
