Wrecks snarl traffic on I-40
It was a rough night on the roads in parts of the mountains Monday as two crashes created problems for drivers.
This first one happened just before 7 p.m. on I-40 eastbound near exit 46A in Asheville.
The crash involved four vehicles. All but one lane was closed for hours, creating major traffic problems. At least two people were taken to the hospital.
There's been no word on the extent of their injuries.
The second crash happened on I-40 eastbound around mile marker 61 in Swannanoa.
Two cars and a Swannanoa Fire and Rescue truck were involved. First responders were working another wreck when it happened.
At least one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
