WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - President Donald Trump tweeted that he is ending both his Manufacturing Council and Strategy and Policy Forum.

The departures are in the wake of the president's news conference Tuesday on the violence and deaths in Charlottesville over the weekend.

Brian Krzanich, CEO of Intel, was the latest CEO to resign from the president's council.

3M products also recently left the council. Their CEO said the initiative is" no longer an effective vehicle for 3M."

Campbell's Soup Company said in a statement on Twitter, "Racism and murder are unequivocally reprehensible and are not morally equivalent to anything else that happened in Charlottesville. "

Other departures include Under Armour, Merck and United Technologies.
