Avery's Creek students get into character for reading
From traditional characters to new ones, you'll find them at Avery's Creek Elementary School, especially on Book Character Day.
The students shared their joy of reading during a recent classroom lunch. They talked about the books they're read and why they love the character they chose. They also talked about what can be learned from books.
"One of my favorite books are in engineering and a science book, because I want to be an engineer and scientist when I grow up," second-grader Colston said.
"I've learned a lot, actually," second-grader Lilly said. "I've learned different kind of words, meanings of words. I saw some really cool pictures in different books."
