The end of 2017 is quickly approaching, and some local children are learning how to ring in the new year.

Kids at the Hands On! Children's Museum in Hendersonville created corn-filled shakers to celebrate the new year.

They also shared their resolutions and wishes. Henry, a 6-year-old, shared his intentions for 2018.

"My New Year's resolution is to walk around the block," he said.

The kids took their noise-makers home to celebrate the new year at the stroke of midnight on Sunday -- if they don't fall asleep first.
