ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The mountains are full of rich history, and a nearby university is set to honor that past with Appalachian Heritage Week.

Dr. Michael Joslin, head of the Stephenson Center for Appalachia at Lees-McRae College, and Lee Rankin from Apple Hill Farm in Banner Elk, join Evan Donovan in the News 13 studio. They talk about Appalachian heritage, some events throughout the week, and a sneak preview of a special celebration for Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, author of the 'The Yearling', and her connection to Asheville.
