Barbecuing tips from the pros at Buxton Hall
If barbecuing is part of your July 4th plans, the pros at Buxton Hall Barbecue in Asheville are sharing tips to make it a success.
They say coating your meat with a rub, marinade or brine will pack some flavor.
If you're not sure what to use, you can never go wrong with some salt and pepper.
Prepare to spend some time checking on your meat to make sure it's cooking appropriately.
Buxton Hall co-owner Elliott Moss recommends using a smoker or charcoal grill for whatever you're preparing to really bring out the flavor. "Hot dog, burger, chicken, ribs, whatever you've got. Gotta get that summertime grill flavor on it,” he says.
If you'd rather kick back and let someone else do the cooking, there's still time to get your take-out order in to Buxton Hall. The restaurant is located at 32 Banks Avenue in Asheville.
Buxton Hall’s Pastry Chef Ashley Capps says even the desserts and bread are all made from scratch in the restaurant.
She demonstrates live on News 13 This Morning how to prepare a make-ahead berry dessert and tasty peach cobbler.
