Crew members involved with 'Three Billboards' talk Oscar buzz
We are counting down to The Oscars and many across WNC are rooting for the local favorite 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri'.
Extras casting director for the movie Marty Cherrix, along with the stand-in for Frances McDormand, Lisa Devlin Patten joined News 13 live in studio to talk about the fun on set.
When hiring a stand-in, Cherrix explains, you need to look for a person with the same skin tone, size and age range as the actor/actress they stand in for. That person is able to stand in front of the camera while the crew adjusts lights and angles, so when the actor/actress is ready, they can just walk into the shot.
Devlin Patten, who stood in for Frances McDormand, says working with her she was always in character. McDormand also showed her appreciation by giving her a scarf she wore in the movie as a momentum to keep.
