Along with deep-fried favorites, there are some new additions to the fair food selection this year.

The family behind the Fork’et Me Not food truck is taking part in the Mountain State Fair for the first time. Traveling from the Outer Banks to be part of the fun, they are serving up items like shrimp and fish tacos with homemade tomato jam and deep fried jalapeño bacon-wrapped mozzarella cheese.

The Mountain State Fair Music Jam is a new event taking place on Heritage Stage. Don Lewis, who plays with the Sons of Ralph, will emcee the music jam on Sunday, September 9.

On Friday, September 7, the fair is open until 1 a.m. due to Friday Night Football.
