Asheville, NC – Now is the time to sign your child up for summer camp, and there’s a rock climbing camp in Asheville that offers the opportunity for active fun.

Week-long summer camps begin in June, at Smoky Mountain Adventure Center and Climbmax Climbing. Click here for details and to sign up. There are a variety of camps and dates to choose from.

On News 13 This Morning, Lauren Brigman demonstrates some of the lessons students will learn.

Owner of the facilities, Stuart Cowles, says anyone ages six and older can participate. The camps are for any skill level too, from beginners to advanced climbers.

Not only do you get indoor climbing time, but climbers get to venture outdoors for rock climbing and other outdoor activities such as riding bikes, canoeing, floating or paddling down the French Broad, or even making pottery.

There is a limit on the number of participants for each camp. If your child isn’t ready to tackle a full week of climbing, there is also an after school program.
