EL PASO, Texas — A man and a women were arrested on Tuesday by Customs and Border Protection officers for trying to smuggle meth across the border at the Ysleta-Zaragoza port of entry.
The two were trying to cross the bridge in a vehicle around 6 p.m. There were three people inside the vehicle.
CBP officers said a CBP drug sniffing dog alerted the officers to drugs during the inspection.
Officers said a 37-year-old man was hiding less than 1 pound of meth in his crotch area. A 26-year-old woman was hiding less than 1 pound of meth in her private area, which she voluntarily removed, according to CBP officers.
The third person was released.
The man and woman were turned over to special agents from Homeland Security and are facing charges of failed drug smuggling attempt.
