Plenty of people tuned in Monday and saw the destruction of the historic Georgia Dome live on TV or various avenues on the internet.

To see the long-time home of the Atlanta Falcons, the sight of a Final Four, Olympics and Super Bowl come down was an impressive sight.

That is, unless you watched the Weather Channel.

The instant before the big moment, a MARTA bus pulled in front of the Weather Channel's camera in Atlanta, obscuring the picturesque crumbling of this piece of sports history.

The road was reportedly blocked off but the driver wanted an unobstructed view of the implosion. The video soon went viral across the internet and created a new meme: the MARTA bus blocking important sports moments.

Sports Illustrated put together this compilation of the bus making some very untimely appearances in some of the major plays from recent sports memory.

The Falcons even got in on the action themselves, inserting the bus into a highlight-reel catch from their Monday Night Football win over the Seattle Seahawks.

The Atlanta Hawks took a different approach, inlisting the MARTA bus's help in purposfuly obsucuring the final score of their loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

MARTA even made it up to the University of Maryland. One of the Twitter accounts for the Diamondback, their main student newspaper, used the bus to stratigically block out all of seven of the Terrapins' losses in football.

And or course, the MARTA bus now has it's own unofficial parody Twitter account. Because why not?
