WLOS - A suddenly dormant offense has left the Asheville Tourists reeling.

A 9-1 beatdown vs. Rome on Wednesday was the fifth straight defeat for Asheville after the team won five of six last week.

The Tourists (19-31) have managed just 11 runs in the five defeats while allowing 33 runs.

Rome starter Huascar Ynoa pitched six shutout innings and struck out nine to earn the win.

Matt McLaughlin had three hits and Ryan Vilade added two for Asheville.

The Tourists wrap up a three-game series in Rome Thursday night and play in Greenville, S.C. over the weekend before returning home Tuesday vs. Rome at McCormick Field.

That begins a six-game homestand that includes three games with Rome and a trio vs. Lexington, Ky.
