WLOS - The Christ School Greenies had to make some sudden adjustments when Scott Willard stepped down as head coach earlier this week, citing a family member's health issues. Assistant coach Jeff Depelteau stepped in to fill the role, and barely got to break in his new title before the Greenies took the court in the 5th annual Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout at Kimmel Arena.

"It's certainly tough circumstances with Coach Willard and what his family is going through," said Depelteau. "So he's certainly in our thoughts and prayers. But to have the opportunity to coach a program like Christ School that has a rich history and great traditions is a huge honor."

Depelteau also serves as the Associate Director of College Counseling at Christ School according to the school's website.

Christ School split their two games in the tournament, falling to McEachern 83-72 on Friday and topping Hoke County 62-55 on Saturday. The team's record moved to 3-4 with Legacy Charter up next on Tuesday.
