Asheville - The Reynolds beat Marvin Ridge in the regional final at R.L. Dalton Stadium Tuesday night 5-4 on penalty kicks. The Rockets will play Chapel Hill for the state 3A championship Saturday at 5:05 in Raleigh.

Reynolds and Marvin Ridge went scoreless through 2 ten minute overtime periods and then through 2 five minute periods. The game then went to penalty kicks. Each team hit their first four, but Rockets goal keeper Rendi Perez stopped the Mavericks on their fifth shot. That left it up to Reynolds sophomore Luke Sloan and he came through putting his free kick into the back of the net and Reynolds into the title game. The time of the game will be announced on Wednesday.
