Waynesville - The Smoky Mountain girls basketball team is a perfect ten. Friday in the Tuscola Holiday Classic in Waynesville Smoky Mountain rolled over North Buncombe 68-54 to improve to 10-0. The Mustangs led by Kyra Fowler who had 19 points with Shea Sutton and Alisha Tisso each scoring 10. North Buncombe falls to 6-5.

Smoky Mountain coach Heather Klipa says the key to her team's success this year is " an awesome group of senior who've led and kind of set the standard and expectations for the way we want things and I do think they care more about the team's success than they do about their own."

The Mustangs have a huge league showdown with fellow unbeaten, Mountain Heritage on January 2nd. That game will be in Sylva and could be one of the biggest games in mountain hoops this year. The second biggest game could be when they square off in Burnsville eight days later.

In boys action at the Tuscola Holiday Classic, Smoky Mountain boys completed the sweep with a 62-58 win over North Buncombe.
