UNC Asheville women fall to 0-5 with 72-57 loss to MTSU
WLOS - When Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick revealed the non-conference schedule for this season, she did so with the caveat that it could result in some bumps and bruises for her young team. That forewarning has proved true as the Bulldogs fell to 0-5 with a 72-57 loss to Middle Tennessee State on Saturday. The Bulldogs dug a deep hole in the opening quarter when the Blue Raiders jumped out to a 21-8 lead. That gap would prove insurmountable, as UNCA outscored its opponent in the second half but still lost by fifteen points. Bronaza Fitzgerald led three Bulldogs in double figures with a career-high 19 points. UNCA next hits the court on Thursday with a trip to Wofford before returning home the following Monday to play Warren Wilson.
